In this episode of Parts Unknown we visit Okinawa. The Ryukyu Kingdom ruled these islands from the fifteenth to the nineteenth century before being annexed as the Okinawa Prefecture by Japan in 1879.

In this episode of Parts Unknown, Tony visits the city of Istanbul. Like the rest of the country of Turkey, Istanbul is under construction. For over the last decade during President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s administration, there have been major shifts in Turkey.
