Season 7 Episode Guide

Episode 1 - Greece

In this episode of Parts Unknown, Tony visits the Greek Islands to kick off the new season of Parts Unknown in a region known for its sun, sand, and charming lifestyle, rich in history and known for its infamous healthy diet. Bourdain and the crew settle into the idyllic island of Naxos, largest of the Cyclades and mythical home to Dionysus, the Greek god of wine and also madness.

     

Episode 2 - Chicago

In this episode of Parts Unknown, Chicago will be revealed through the memories and stories of the people who live there – primarily a select few, drawn from the regulars at The Old Town Ale House, one of Chicago’s most iconic bars.

     

Episode 3 - Montana

In this episode of Parts Unknown, Tony travels to Big Sky Country: Montana. Since long before statehood Montana has attracted those looking to live by their own means. Throughout Montana’s history, past and present, cowboys, artists, billionaires, prospectors, cattle and railroad men, eco-hippies and miners, outdoorsmen and drifters have all been pulled into Montana’s orbit.

     

Episode 4 - Georgia

Strategically located at the crux of ancient spice routes from Russia, Asia and the Middle East, post-Soviet satellite Georgia has always cultivated and maintained a fascinating, steadfastly distinctive culture all its own. From its one-of-a-kind language and alphabet, with no ties to any other, to its wildly inventive amalgam of culinary influences – Georgia is utterly unique.

     

Episode 5 - Manila

Tony returns to the Philippines by way of Manila, its crowded capitol city. Home to 12 to 15 million inhabitants, Manila is hot, tropical, smoggy, fascinating, and especially chaotic in the lead up to Christmas. Filipinos take the holiday seriously, and the 100 days before Christmas are like one long party.

     

Episode 6 - Cologne

In this episode of Parts Unknown, Tony travels to Cologne to talk about beer, music, art - and the issue currently on every German’s mind: immigration and the hundreds of assaults, allegedly perpetrated by refugees, that occurred on New Year’s Eve near Cologne’s central station, throwing Germany’s open-minded immigration policies into question.

     

Episode 7 - Senegal

In this episode of Parts Unknown, Tony heads to the West African nation of Senegal. A former French colony, it boasts upwards of 10 distinct ethnic groups, as well as being home to a 94% Islamic majority.

     

Episode 8 - Buenos Aires

In this episode of Parts Unknown, Tony ventures to Buenos Aires. Against popular wisdom, he arrives in the middle of summer, when most Porteños (as denizens of Buenos Aires are known) leave the city to escape the heat. As he wanders through the empty streets, he prepares himself to dive deep into two things that Porteños hold dear, meat and - interestingly - therapy.
