Episode 1 - Get Me a Lawyer

After Patty (Glenn Close) handpicks Ellen (Rose Byrne) to be a first-year Associate at the high- profile law firm, Hewes & Associates, life will never be the same for either one of them. Ellen, newly-engaged to her boyfriend David Connor (Noah Bean), is thrilled to join the ranks and be trained under Patty and Patty's trusted Senior Associate, Tom Shayes (Tate Donovan). But Ellen soon realizes that the price of success may be much higher than what she's willing to pay. Currently, the focus of Hewes & Associates attention is a class action lawsuit targeting the allegedly corrupt Arthur Frobisher (Ted Danson), one of the country's wealthiest CEOs. Patty, on behalf of her clients, is attempting to bankrupt and personally destroy Frobisher. As Patty battles with Frobisher and his attorney Ray Fiske (Zljko Ivanek) Ellen Parsons will be front and center witnessing just what it takes to win at all costs.

While down in Florida for business, Katie (Anastasia Griffiths) partied the night away in one of Florida's hippest nightclubs and saw something she shouldn't have - Arthur Frobisher (Ted Danson) with an unknown man in a parking lot. That one night, five years ago, has left her in a dire position - right in the center of the Frobisher class action lawsuit. If Katie correctly identifies the man with Frobisher, Patty (Glenn Close) will have sufficient reason to continue litigation. Bravely, Katie prepares herself for the ugly as she decides to testify and turn Patty's case around. Unwittingly, she relies on Gregory Malina (Peter Facinelli) - a married man who was with her that night- to tell her the name of the man with Frobisher. While giving her deposition, Frobisher's lawyer, Ray Fiske (Zeljko Ivanek), burns her on the spot; however, it isn't what Katie saw in the parking lot that is of importance but what she may have seen later that night.
