Episode 1 - Chapter 1

Series premiere. Burned out and broke, former big-league pitcher Kenny Powers returns home to North Carolina to teach PE at the local middle school he once attended. Wreaking havoc at school, around town and at the home of his brother Dustin, Kenny settles into his role as the town's loose-cannon agitator, setting his sights on winning back his high-school flame April, now a teacher engaged to the school principal, Terrence Cutler.

The gig threatens to turn into a fiasco when Ashley Schaeffer, the dealership owner, insists that Kenny pitch a fastball to a fan. Later Kenny and his driver, Clegg, make a memorable cameo appearance at the middle-school dance, where Kenny attempts to reconnect with April, again.

Episode 7 - Season 2, Episode 1: Chapter 7

Season Two Premiere. After settling a score with the baseball exec who screwed him out of a big-league comeback, Kenny Powers heads to Mexico to lick his wounds and start a new, more anonymous life. Living in a dingy apartment in Jalisco under an alias--Stevie Janowski, the fawning NC music teacher whose credit card he's been using--Kenny's nascent career in cockfighting ends when his 'Big Red' bird goes down, and his two local sidekicks, Aaron and Hector, take off with his assets. Befriended by a neighboring Mexican family and a sultry bar singer named Vida, Kenny emerges from 'the darkest hole I've ever been in' by announcing he'll make a baseball comeback with a hapless local team, the Chaross. But do the Chaross and their manager, Roger Hernandez, have room on the roster for a self-centered, out-of-shape flame thrower?

Charros owner Sebastian Cisneros agrees to throw out all the stops in promoting Kenny Powers' return to organized baseball, but Kenny loses motivation after learning a secret about April from an old friend.

Puzzled by the Mexican fans' lukewarm reception, Kenny starts a grassroots PR campaign to burnish his image. But it takes a vintage Powers flare-up to bring the fans to their feet. Kenny makes inroads with Vida by inviting her to Sebastian's yacht party.

Though Charros fans respond to Kenny, he is warned by Roger about the perils of showboating. Kenny finds he has serious competition in his courtship of Vida. Stevie finds short-lived romance.

Enjoying a new lease on his baseball career as the closer for the minor-league Myrtle Beach Mermen, Kenny Powers settles into a life of body boarding, jet-skiing, and hard-partying with his catcher Shane (Jason Sudeikis). A detour to Shelby to attend the one-year birthday of his son Toby reunites Kenny with April.

With baby Toby in tow, a seething Kenny heads north in search of April. Getting no assistance from Dustin, Maria or Jamie, Kenny tracks down his erstwhile lackey Stevie, currently employed at Ashley Schaeffer's (Will Ferrell) car dealership. Kenny crashes a perverse plantation fete the dealer is throwing in an effort to liberate Stevie.

Pro scout Roy McDaniel (Matthew McConaughey) arrives in Myrtle Beach to ask Kenny to mentor Ivan Dochenko, a promising young Russian pitching prospect. Stevie lays down the ground rules for his return to Kenny's team, while grappling with Shane and Kenny's relationship.

Convinced his son is cursed, Kenny blames Toby for his recent travails. Later, Kenny tries to connect with Shane's straight-laced family during a difficult time. Stevie is overcome by guilt.
