Known for his role as Detective Sergeant John Bacchus, later promoted to Inspector, in the BBC drama Inspector George Gently. In 2016, played the role of Paul Hughes, the father of an autistic son, Joe, in the BBC drama The A Word. Voiced the part of Phillip De Nicholay, Sheriff of Nottingham in Hood: Noble Secrets in 2013 on BBC Radio 4.

Trivia: Originally wanted to be a film technician and enrolled in a Dublin acting school in order to get a foot in the industry. Enrolled in the Abbey Theatre's acting school, becoming a member of the company in 1967. While playing Thérnadier in Les Misérables in 1999, he was dropped and broke his ankle; he continued, despite the injury, for two more hours until the end of the performance.

Trivia: Knew she wanted to pursue acting after playing Captain Hook in a school play at age 9. When she auditioned for the role of Cathy in the 2009 adaptation of Wuthering Heights, she had never read the book itself before. Away from acting, she performs as a member of a 1940s doo-wop band The Flirtinis. Is an avid painter in her spare time. Won the lead role in the BBC drama Press in 2018, which was cancelled after the first series. Played the role of Lottie/Ghost of Christmas Present in 2019 in the BBC mini-series A Christmas Carol, based on the Charles Dickens novel of the same name.
