Episode 1 - David Barby and Anita Manning, Day 1

Kicking off the first ever Antiques Road Trip, David Barby and Anita Manning begin in Aberdeen. With a starting budget of £200 each, they seek out some out-of-the-way antiques shops, hunting for treasures they think will make them money at auction in St Andrews. But Anita, quickly forgetting it’s a competition, lets her heart rule her head and seems to forget all about making a profit.

This week’s antiques experts James Lewis and David Harper are starting their road trip in Northern Ireland with £200 each to spend. Today’s leg of their journey starts at the Giant’s Causeway, as they seek out as many antique shops as they can, to buy some profitable items to sell at auction in Belfast. These boys take the competition very seriously so things could heat up in the coming week.

David Harper and James Lewis drive from Belfast to Kendal and stumble upon the most remote antiques dealers they can find. After making some good profits at their first auction, they’re keen to trade up. James makes some risky big purchases, while David plays it cautious, spending little. James Lewis and David Harper travel from Kendal to Liverpool via Yorkshire. It’s all going swimmingly until David buys a bowl that could spell disaster for him. And when they get to the auction there’s even more bad news for both of them.

Philip Serrell and Charles Hanson get swept up in the magic of Bath as they shop for objects they hope will boost their coffers. Charles is tempted to blow it all on a giant Chinese teapot, while Philip buys smaller, less risky items. But whose strategy will earn more profit at the auction in Dorchester?

James Braxton and Mark Stacey set off from Kings Lynn in search of antiques to auction in Diss. James’s outlandish style is to spend BIG on expensive items for even bigger profits. Mark is more cautious and wants small bargains that just might turn out to be big sellers. Will either one of them make money? And will their old MG keep going, or will the British weather get the better of them?

James Braxton is still wooed by expensive purchases, hoping for even bigger profits. Mark Stacey looks for undiscovered, cheap gems. Will either of them make any money? Or will they get side-tracked by antiques they want for themselves?

James Braxton and Mark Stacey travel from Norfolk to West Sussex in a classic open-topped MG. James tries to curb his spending, while Mark continues buying small and hoping to sell for big profits. Will their rivalry stay friendly?

  

Episode 19 - James Braxton and Mark Stacey, Day 4

It’s the penultimate show in the series. James Braxton and Mark Stacey are on the final leg of their journey, from Abingdon to Billingshurst. James fights his irresistible urge to spend big and Mark continues trying to play it safe.

  

Episode 20 - Season Finale

It’s the grand finale to the Antiques Road Trip, when one of the eight experts will be crowned champion. Each pair of experts spent a week driving around the UK, buying and selling antiques, trying to make as much profit as they could. Now they each must find one special antique to sell at one of London’s most famous salerooms. Whoever makes the most money wins the competition!
