Episode 1 - Intergalactic ZooSeason 9 begins with a cosmic bang as sixteen new talented artists work in teams of two to construct original alien animals that incorporate two models into one massive creation. This difficult task of fashioning the largest creatures ever seen on Face Off proves to be eye opening and taxing for multiple contestants, and a surprise announcement from the judges keeps everyone on edge.

Episode 2 - Siren SongSixteen artists embark on their next challenge with an assist from the U.S. Coast Guard as they create beautiful but deadly siren makeups inspired by exotic creatures of the sea.

Episode 3 - Surprise of the CenturyFace Off celebrates its 100th episode in style as the artists turn real-life engaged couples into whimsically macabre characters for a group wedding.

Episode 4 - Frightful FictionThe artists take on Face Off's first ever Focus Challenge in which they are given just two days to create and apply a clean, detailed face makeup based upon literary mash-ups.

Episode 5 - The GatekeepersThe artists compete for immunity in a Foundation Challenge based upon a classic Rorschach inkblot test. For their Spotlight Challenge, they pair off and use a unique gateway as inspiration for two makeups-- a Gatekeeper and whatever is behind the gate.

Episode 6 - Extraterrestrial EnterpriseThe artists create retro-style aliens for a Foundation Challenge and are then shocked to learn that for their Spotlight Challenge, they must evolve their character into a modern day version of the same alien species.

Episode 7 - All That GlittersThe artists are tasked with taking a male model and turning him into a female character from a classic Shakespearean play.

Episode 8 - The GauntletThe nine artists' skills are put to the ultimate test in a grueling set of three increasingly difficult challenges called The Gauntlet.

Episode 9 - Judgement DayThe artists are tasked with bringing their own twist to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Episode 10 - Freak ShowThe seven remaining artists battle for immunity in a barbaric Foundation Challenge judged by Dallas Buyers Club’s Oscar-winning makeup artist Robin Matthews. Then it’s off to the circus, as they must dazzle the judges with makeups inspired by the freak show.

Episode 11 - Beyond the ExpanseAs the artists draw closer to the finale, they find themselves tackling a Focus Challenge inspired by he Expanse. Contestants are asked to reimagine human evolution in a disastrous future-Earth scenario.

Episode 12 - Death Becomes ThemThe five remaining artists are tasked with making quirky and macabre family member characters. They are quickly rattled when they learn that this is the semifinal and two of them will be going home.

Episode 13 - Movie Magic- Part 1The finalists embark on their journey into the Face Off finale challenge, discovering that they’ll be working with a real-life Hollywood director and full production crew to create three stunning short films on location.

Episode 14 - Movie Magic- Part 2In the second part of the Face Off finale, the finalists must finish work on their characters for the short film shoots with acclaimed director and creature designer Patrick Tatopoulos.
