Met her fourth husband, the sculptor David Gerstein, as a young child living in Mexico City; they were neighbors and attended the same high school. Won her first TVyNovelas Award in 1991, for Best Female Antagonist for Cadenas de amargura. Appeared in stage productions of The Vagina Monologues and Cyrano de Bergerac. Made her directorial debut in 2005, on the telenovela Alborada. Appeared on the first season of Bailando por un Sueño, the Mexican version of Dancing with the Stars.
