First acting appearance was in the 1994 Australian TV movie Baby Bath Massacre. Once worked cleaning animal cages in a pet shop. Worked as a model.
Trained at Melbourne's St. Martin's Theater; studied drama and theater at Sandringham Secondary College. Has worked as a grip on a number of TV and film productions. In 2012, was cast in his first lead role in a Hollywood film, as a Greek general in 300: Rise of an Empire.
