Went to college to become a physical therapist; wasn't interested in acting until he took a theater class just to earn a credit. Once worked security at Universal Studios; first acting job was in a Levi's commercial. Honed his craft on TV (The Shield; Sons of Anarchy; Dexter) and in movies (Fast & Furious; Crank: High Voltage; Hamlet 2).
Showed off his comedic abilities in a famous State Farm commercial in which his car is hit by a buffalo. Big break came in 2012 when he was cast as Hector Cruz on Army Wives. Works regularly with autistic children.
Is a third generation Mexican-American.
