About Derek Roberts

Moved to Delaware with his family when he was 12.
Was raised by his grandmother, mother and aunt.
Joined a singing group when he was 15.
Attended college in Maryland for a year, but returned to Delaware to pursue a music career.
Worked as a mortgage broker in Florida for around 3 to 4 years before the housing market burst in 2008.
Started acting in Florida, after a friend suggested he audition for a play, which he got the lead role.
His first role on-screen, in Army Wives, was also his first audition.
Works with an insurance company, doing arbitration, in between acting jobs.
