Alan Tang (Actor) .. Larry Chin
Timothy Brown (Actor) .. Stud Brown
Born: May 24, 1937
Trivia: African-American actor Timothy Brown entered films and TV in the late 1960s and remained active until 1988. Brown appeared in guest spots on several TV programs, most notably the pilot for Jack Webb's O'Hara: US Treasury (1971). What could have been his longest-lasting TV stint turned out to last but a single season. In 1972, Brown was cast as Spearchucker Jones, the only black member of the 4077th, on the first season of M*A*S*H. Spearchucker had been a minor character in the 1970 film version of M*A*S*H, with Fred Williamson in the part; the character had very little to do in the movie until the climactic football game. No such gridiron activity was deemed necessary for the TV M*A*S*H, nor was Spearchucker alotted much screen time (Alan Alda, Wayne Rogers and company were carrying the ball), so Timothy Brown was out of the series after only one year. M*A*S*H of course weathered the loss, and lasted until 1983.
Aldo Ray (Actor) .. Burke
Born: September 25, 1926
Died: March 27, 1991
Trivia: Born Aldo DaRe. A leading man of Hollywood and some European films with a husky frame, thick neck, and raspy voice, he specialized in playing brawny but lovable tough guys. In World War Two he served as a Navy frog-man; later he was briefly the constable of Crockett, California, during the campaign for which he was spotted by Hollywood scouts. Ray debuted onscreen in the small role of a cynical football player in Saturday's Hero (1951), going on to frequently portray American rednecks and military men. His career went downhill rapidly in the '70s -- he made a string of low-budget films as a beefy character actor. His last film was Shock 'Em Dead (1990). Briefly married to actress Jeff Donnell, Ray is the father of actor Eric DaRe, best known as the character Leo in the TV series Twin Peaks.
James Hong (Actor) .. Wei Chin
Born: February 22, 1929
Birthplace: Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States
Trivia: Actor James Hong was working as a nightclub comic in San Francisco and Hawaii when he was tapped for his first regular TV role: "Number One Son" Barry Chan in the Anglo-American co-production The New Adventures of Charlie Chan (1957). Hong would later appear as Frank Chen in Jigsaw John (1976) and Wang in Switch (1977-78). In theatrical features, he played characters bearing such flavorful monikers as Chew, Lo Pan and Bing Wong. He was seen as Faye Dunaway's butler in Roman Polanski's Chinatown (1974), repeating the role (minus Faye) in the 1990 sequel The Two Jakes. One of his most sizeable screen roles was Lamont Cranston's brainy assistant Li Peng in The Shadow (1994). James Hong has also directed a brace of feature films, including 1979's The Girls Next Door and 1989's The Vineyard.
