When he played Shane Donovan on the soap Days of Our Lives from 1984 to 1992, pictures that were on the mantel in his TV home were actually old Shaughnessy family photos. (The actor reprised his role for a multiple-episode stint in May 2010.) Has been a contestant on Celebrity Jeopardy, as well as the game shows Super Password, The New Hollywood Squares, Win Lose or Draw, To Tell the Truth and Hollywood Squares. Became the fifth Baron Shaughnessy of Montreal and Ashford in 2007. Has been active in AIDS and antiwar organizations.

Trivia: The younger sister of actress Michelle Pfeiffer, DeDe Pfeiffer began making the casting rounds in 1984, just before Michelle matriculated to superstardom. As was the case of most celebrity siblings, the bulk of DeDe's film work has been in crime melodramas, horror films and direct-to-video offerings. She has, however, been seen to good advantage in several A pictures, notably Into the Night (1985), Tune in Tomorrow (1990) and Falling Down (1993); in the opening scenes of 1991's Frankie and Johnny, DeDe has a piquant cameo as the cousin of the character played by her sister Michelle. Ross graduated almost immediately to acting work, initially stepping before the cameras in late adolescence with small supporting roles in such features as Touch and Go (1986), Foreign Student (1994), and Love and a .45 (1994), but found far greater exposure on the small screen. She essayed the lead role of Lori Volpone on the Showtime pay-cable series Beggars and Choosers (1999-2001), then embarked on a multi-season portrayal of Detective Connie McDowell on Steven Bochco's gritty cop drama NYPD Blue.
