Ray Stevenson

.. Big Ray
Born:
May 24, 1964
Died:
May 22, 2023
Birthplace: Lisburn, Northern Ireland
Trivia:
Born the middle child of a Royal Air Force pilot and an Irishwoman, actor Ray Stevenson was born in Ireland but was largely raised in North East England. His parents would frequently drop him and his brothers off at the local cinema on Saturday mornings, and as a little boy staring up at the big screen, he knew that he wanted to become an actor but just didn't think it was a realistic dream. Though Stevenson entered into a career as an interior designer, the acting bug slowly ate away at him well into young adulthood. It was only after gaining courage through drink that he shared his dreams with a helpful Australian actor, who convinced him to enroll in evening classes, and Stevenson secured a spot at the Bristol Old Vic Theater School at the tender age of 27. Later, after training on the boards and honing is talents with a series of small-screen roles, Stevenson gradually transitioned to film work with parts in Paul Greengrass' The Theory of Flight and Antoine Fuqua's King Arthur. In 2005, the handsome star landed his highest profile role to date as the passionate Roman soldier Titus Pullo on the critically acclaimed BBC/HBO television co-production Rome.
Michael Jai White
(Actor)
.. Mick
Born:
November 10, 1967
Birthplace: New York, New York, United States
Trivia:
A black belt in seven karate styles who made his feature debut in The Toxic Avenger II and has appeared in numerous off-Broadway plays, Michael Jai White has a curiously eclectic career and is likely a recognized face to action movie aficionados. A Brooklyn, NY, native who was raised in the sometimes harsh limbo between the impoverished Bridgeport and well-to-do Westport, CT, Jai White grew from an introverted youth to a man comfortable in multiple surroundings. Eventually gaining a reputation as a fearsomely tough street fighter by the age of 14, the strikingly mature-appearing youngster earned his keep by offering karate lessons at the YMCA before graduating high school with honors and setting his sights on college. Bouncing from school to school unsure of what direction to take in life, Jai White took a few acting classes but eventually ended up as a junior high school teacher specializing in emotionally disturbed children. Soon auditioning for roles in Manhattan with the blessing of his students, Jai White would rise through the ranks and eventually land roles in such features as Universal Soldier (1992) and Full Contact (1993). After appearing as Mike Tyson in the 1995 television movie Tyson, the tough actor was cast in the role of a double-crossed assassin who seeks vengeance from the fiery depths of Hell in the eagerly anticipated film adaptation of the cult comic book Spawn. Later appearing in such features as Breakfast of Champions (1999) and Exit Wounds (2001), Jai White gained solid footing as a reliable supporting action figure.
Ashley Greene
(Actor)
.. Charlie Adams
Born:
February 21, 1987
Birthplace: Jacksonville, FL
Trivia:
Born in Jacksonville, FL, actress Ashley Greene made a strong decision about her career when she was still just a teenager. Opting to graduate from high school early, Greene moved out to L.A. to begin auditioning and quickly found small parts to play on episodes of shows like Crossing Jordan and Shark. Then, in 2008, Greene got her big break when she was cast in the leading role of Alice Cullen in the highly anticipated film adaptation of the young-adult novel Twilight. Still only 19, she was a great fit to play the eternally young vampire girl who has the ability to see visions of the future. She appeared in the 2011 satirical comedy Butter, and the 2012 Miley Cyrus bomb LOL.
David Paymer
(Actor)
.. Milton
Born:
August 30, 1954
Birthplace: Oceanside, New York, United States
Trivia:
A former theatre and psychology major at the University of Michigan, actor David Paymer's first Broadway success was in the long-running musical Grease. He tentatively launched his film career in the tiny but telling role of a cabbie in 1979's The In-Laws, then returned to working "live" as a performer and writer for The Comedy Store. A character actor even in his early twenties, Paymer displayed his versatility in a wealth of TV supporting roles on such weeklies as Cagney and Lacey, Diff'rent Strokes, The Commish and Downtown. Billy Crystal was so impressed with Paymer's work as ice-cream entrepreneur Ira Shalowitz in City Slickers (1991) that Crystal assigned him the plum role of Stan Yankelman, long-suffering brother and business manager of Berle-like comedian Buddy Young Jr., in Mister Saturday Night (1992). Convincingly playing an age range from 20 to 75, Paymer was honored with an Oscar nomination. Dividing his time between working in films and teaching classes at the Film Actor's Workshop, David Paymer has recently been seen as the angelic Hal in Heart and Souls (1993) and real-life TV producer Dan Enright in Robert Redford's Quiz Show (1994). In the decades to come, Paymer would remain an ever-present force on screen, appearing in films like In Good Company, Drag Me to Hell, Bad Teacher, and Redbelt, as well as TV shows like Line of Fire and The Good Wife.
