Munish and JK were friends, bound together in many ways. JK has helped Munish in his education, a trip to England for higher education and has now made him Engineer-in-charge for his prestigious dam project. JK's brother Ravi is engaged to Munish's sister. But these bonds of friendship are severely tested when Munish finds out that JK's vast empire is not built on totally honest business practices and refuses to support him.

Birthplace: Nasrali, Khanna, Punjab Province, British India
Trivia: Made his acting debut in Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere (1960). Set up the production company Vijayta Films in 1983. It's first release was Betaab(1983), which starred his son Sunny Deol. As producer he received the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and the Filmfare Award for Best Movie for Ghayal (1990). Received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997. In 2011 he was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Ratna Award, India's highest cinematic award. Was honoured with India's third highest civilian award, the Padma Bhushan, in 2012.

Lived with her maternal grandmother and aunt after her parents' divorce. Entered the film industry along with her sister Malika when her family was going through a financial crisis. Got her first break as a child artist in the Hindi film Sanskar (1952). Made her debut as an adult opposite Dara Singh in Faulad (1963). Had an affair with Bollywood actor Shammi Kapoor when she was only 18 years old. Lost her mother during the shooting of Boond Jo Ban Gaye Moti (1967). Married the business tycoon Mayur Madhwani at age 26 and migrated to London. Was first offered the role of Dev Anand's sister in Hare Rama Hare Krishna (1971), which she refused to become the lead heroine. Starred in Bandhe Haath (1973) opposite Amitabh Bachchan who played double role for the first time ever.

Married Mallika Askari who is the sister of the renowned Bollywood actor Mumtaz Madhvani. Passed away following a heart attack at age 80.

Trivia: Was born in a well-to-do family, his father had held a very high position in a company based in Kanpur. Was the eldest among four brothers and one sister. Is the brother of the Bollywood actress Veena Kumari (aka Tajour Sultana) who won several Best Supporting Actress Awards for her roles in Bollywood films. Was a passionate singer and had decided to become like his idol Kundan Lal Saigal after his matriculation exams. Completed a diploma course in painting from Lucknow College of Arts after matriculation. Moved to Calcutta to pursue a career in singing at age 20 and auditioned for producer Kamal Das Gupta at HMV Music company, which secured him a debut role in film. Sang two songs that featured in a private album released by HMV company. Was engaged to a girl named Sayeeda in Kanpur but broke up with her after falling in love with the next-door Jewish girl Hannah Joseph in Kolkata. Married Hannah Joseph, who was rechristened as Rehana Ahmed. Made his Bollywood acting debut in Qazzak Ki Ladki (1937). Moved to Kanpur to become a singer after making a disc of his songs, but had to return to Calcutta at his producer's beck and call. Was terminated from his service at the film company in Calcutta following the partition of India in 1947, and moved to Mumbai in 1948 where he stayed at Hotel Evergreen in Khar. Being an accomplished painter, some of his works is seen in the opening background of the 1964 film Door Gagan Ki Chhaon Me. Gained recognition as a cop by his role in Ittefaq (1969) that garnered him a majority of roles as a police officer. Acted in the American TV series Maya (1967-68) and the English films Bombay Talkie (1970) and City of Joy (1992).
