Trivia:
Worked in his family's racing shop (K Automotive Motorsports) as a boy, doing odd jobs until he began racing midget cars at 14. Won his first Sprint Cup Series race in just his fifth start, infamously bumping past Carl Edwards (whose car flew into the catch fence) on the last lap of the 2009 Talladega spring race. Brad became the first driver to make his first-ever lap-led the final lap of a race. Established the Checkered Flag Foundation in 2010, benefiting those who have sacrificed greatly, including military members, veterans, first-responders and their families. Captured the first NASCAR series championship for legendary team owner Roger Penske in winning the 2010 Nationwide Series, adding the prestigious Sprint Cup Series title two years later. Began his 2012 title campaign by tweeting from his race-car during a delay in the season-opening Daytona 500. He earned some 130,000 additional Twitter followers. Fined $25,000 for using Twitter during a delay in Phoenix later in 2012, as NASCAR had banned phones in cars during a race.
