Intending to study pre-Med in college, she dropped out to pursue a modeling career in Japan. She was Isabella Rosellini's nude body double for Death Becomes Her in 1992, leading her to meet her future husband (Adam Deason) on the film's set. Trivia: American character actor Carl Gordon appeared in feature films such as Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings (1976). He was also an active member of the Negro Ensemble Company and appeared in over 30 of their productions. In the early '90s, he appeared on the Fox television network sitcom Roc as Andrew Emerson, the father of the lead character. Gordon died of lymphoma at age 78 in 2010.

Trivia: Character actor Bill Cobbs began his acting career relatively late in life after working odd jobs in Cleveland, OH. At the age of 36, he moved to New York and joined the Negro Ensemble Company, making his Broadway debut in First Breeze of Summer. His film career started in the late '70s with small film roles and guest appearances on television. In the early '80s, he worked on several performances for the NBC Live Theatre series and a PBS anthology with Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee. Usually cast as the token old black man dispensing words of wisdom, Cobbs' weathered-yet-honest looks got him several guest spots on TV shows from Good Times to The West Wing. He did end up with a few reoccurring roles on sitcoms like The Slap Maxwell Story, The Gregory Hines Show, and The Michael Richards Show. He even had a part in The Others, the NBC sci-fi drama answer to The X-Files. Perhaps his most memorable television appearance is his role as Regina Taylor's father on I'll Fly Away as well as in the TV movie version I'll Fly Away: Then and Now. Throughout his film career, he has built a long list of credits playing kindly fathers, grandfathers, and even Moses (in The Hudsucker Proxy). He was Whitney Houston's manager in The Bodyguard, an old man in New Jack City, and Grandpa Booker in The People Under the Stairs. Though he appears in nearly all genres of Hollywood films, he occasionally gets meatier roles in made-for-TV dramas like Carolina Skeletons, Nightjohn, and Always Outnumbered. Trivia: Growing up, both of his parents were involved in civil rights activism, and he attended rallies and picket lines as a child. Trivia: Actress Zoe McLellan got her first break in the movie Mr. Holland's Opus in 1995. Trivia: An Image and ALMA award nominee who rose to fame on The Steve Harvey Show before co-starring with Eddie Murphy in the action comedy Showtime, actor Merlin Santana's career was cut tragically short by a seemingly random act of violence. Born to Dominican Republic immigrants in New York City, Santana was encouraged by his mother to pursue a career in show business as a means to keep the talented youngster off the streets. Following early work as a fast food chain advertising model, Santana landed a recurring role on the enduring sitcom The Cosby Show. Although he co-starred in the sitcom Getting By in the early '90s, it was The Steve Harvey Show that found the actor nominated by the Image awards and ALMA and truly coming into his own as an actor. Sadly, his blossoming career was ended with a bullet as he sat in a parked car in South Los Angeles in November 2002. A woman was arrested in connection to the crime shortly thereafter. Santana was 26.

Trivia: General purpose actor Norman Alden was first seen by filmgoers in 1960's Operation Bottleneck. Most often seen in take-charge roles, Alden was critically acclaimed for his portrayal of a middle-aged retarded man in the NYC-filmed Andy (1965). The actor's series-TV credits include the thankless role of "Frank" on the "Electra Woman/Dynagirl" segments of Saturday morning's The Krofft Supershow. More artistically satisfying was Norman Alden's brief tenure as lawyer Al Cassidy on the Lee Grant TV sitcom Fay (1975).

Trivia: Worked as an apprentice for the North Devon Parks Department. Helped set up the Homebase Garden Academy in 2013. Became an RHS Ambassador in 2014. Published his first book, Real Gardens, in 2015. As of 2019, has won seven Gold medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show since 2007.
