The son of a musician, Bakula is said to have started his own rock band when he was in the fourth grade. He also sang with the St. Louis Symphony before attending the University of Kansas. Trivia: A San Diego native, Jolene Blalock left home at the age of 17 to pursue a career in modeling. Traveling through Europe and Asia, the fledgling but confident model unsurprisingly found frequent work on the runways and in print. It was on a 1998 trip back to the States that Blalock was compelled to flex her heretofore untested acting skills, and after a few commercial appearances and some skill-sharpening at Toronto's Second City Improv and the Dwight Bacquie Rehearsal Workshop, she made her acting debut on television's Veronica's Closet. Trivia: While his name might suggest a birthplace somewhere in France -- or at the very least Quebec -- actor Rene Auberjonois was born in New York City. However, his well-to-do parents were of noble European blood, thus French was the language of choice in his household. Despite his first-born-American status, Auberjonois was shunned by many of his schoolmates as a foreigner, and teased for having a "girl's" name. As a defense mechanism, Auberjonois became the class clown, which somehow led naturally to amateur theatricals. The influence of such neighborhood family friends as Burgess Meredith and Lotte Lenya solidified Auberjonois' determination to make performing his life's work. He was cast in a production at Stratford (Ontario)'s Shakespeare company by John Houseman -- another neighbor of his parents' -- and after moving with his family to England, Auberjonois returned to complete his acting training at Carnegie-Mellon University. There he decided to specialize in character parts rather than leads -- a wise decision, in that he's still at it while some of his handsomer and more charismatic Carnegie-Mellon classmates have fallen by the wayside. Three years with the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. led Auberjonois to San Francisco's American Conservatory Theatre, of which he was a founding member. Movie and TV work was not as easy to come by, so the actor returned to New York, where he won a Tony for his Broadway role in the musical Coco. Haverhill, MA, native Bergeron was an ambitious broadcaster from the onset, becoming the youngest DJ ever to appear on his hometown radio station WHAV at the age of 17. Of course, it didn't take long for Bergeron to work his way up the radio ladder, and after launching a successful late-night talk show on a local New Hampshire station, he segued into television as the host of WBZ Boston's Emmy-winning magazine series Super Kids. A series of hosting gigs were quick to follow, culminating in a six-year stint on the station's popular morning show People Are Talking beginning in 1987. Three years later, Bergeron returned to the microphone to host WBZ-AM's most popular morning radio show as well.Bergeron's big break finally came in 1995, when Breakfast Time, the FX series he had been hosting for two years, made the leap to Fox. When Bergeron was later tapped for a guest stint on Good Morning America, his sardonic wit and effortless charm proved the perfect combination to serve as the full-time host of Hollywood Squares.
