Trivia: A football star at Eastern Kentucky State College, Lee Majors came to Los Angeles armed with a physical education degree and possessed with a vague desire to break into films. He worked as a park recreation director for the City of Los Angeles before entering show business in 1963. Majors was promoted as "the New James Dean," though he personally aspired to become a new Steve McQueen or Paul Newman (he also retained his permit to work as a recreation director, just in case the world wasn't holding its breath for a new Dean, McQueen or Newman). Majors achieved stardom on his own merits in a variety of television series, the most recent of which was 1992's Raven. His best-known TV roles included Heath Barkley on The Big Valley (1965-69), bionic Steve Austin on The Six Million Dollar Man (1973-78) and stunt man Colt Seavers on The Fall Guy (1981-86). In addition, he has headlined a number of made-for-TV movies, essaying the old Gary Cooper part in the 1991 sequel to High Noon and portraying U-2 pilot Francis Gary Powers in a 1976 biopic. Majors would continue to act in the decades to come, memorably appearing in Big Fat Liar and on The Game. For several years, Lee Majors was married to actress Farrah Fawcett.

Trivia: Blonde, perky Markie Post is a television actress best known for playing curvaceous young prosecutor Christine Sullivan on the long-running sitcom Night Court between 1985 and 1992 and for starring in the controversial and short-lived romantic sitcom Hearts Afire (1992). Born Marjorie Post, she is the daughter of a nuclear physicist and a poet. She had a comfortable and quiet upbringing in California. Post studied acting while enrolled in Lewis and Clark College. She graduated in 1975 and was briefly married before she found work backstage writing questions for game shows and choosing prizes for The Price Is Right, Card Sharks, and Family Feud. She was about to be promoted to executive producer when Post decided it was time to work on her acting career. She made her television debut as a guest star on other series and on the very short-lived series Semi-Tough (1980). She next had a role in another short series, The Gangster Chronicles (1981), and then a longer lasting regular part on The Fall Guy from 1982 to 1985. After leaving the show, Post went on to appear in three television movies before landing her role on Night Court. Following the cancellation of Hearts Afire, Post, who was friends with the show's producers, Harry Thomason and Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, who in turn were friends of President Bill Clinton, was informally appointed a White House advisor. There she hosted an Inaugural special program for children and advised the President on ways to improve his image. Post also continued appearing in television movies such as Survival on the Mountain (1997) and making guest appearances on other shows.

Trivia: Blonde, British-born leading lady Joanna Pettet was raised in Canada and studied acting at New York's Neighborhood Playhouse. Along with several other promising young actresses, Pettet made her movie debut in the 1966 filmization of Mary McCarthy's The Group. While most of that film's cast went on to dramatic or character roles, Pettet gravitated to sexpot characters, notably silky secret agent Mata Bond (the illegitimate daughter of Mata Hari and James Bond!) in Casino Royale (1967). Joanna Pettet's many TV-movie credits include The Weekend Nun (1972) and The Return of Frank Cannon (1980).

Trivia: The younger sister of actress Natalie Wood, Lana Wood made her first film appearance at age ten, playing Natalie as a child in John Ford's classic Western The Searchers (1956). She appeared in two Italian pictures before marrying Sellers in 1963, and later co-starred with him in After the Fox (1966) and The Bobo (1967), and enjoyed good reviews for her role as a prim Quaker girl who inadvertently invented the strip-tease in The Night They Raided Minsky's (1968). Most of Ekland's subsequent films were low-budget action melodramas and leering sex comedies; she did acquit herself nicely, however, as James Bond's vis-à-vis in The Man With the Golden Gun (1974) and that year's cult thriller, The Wicker Man. Ekland will not likely be remembered for her cinematic triumphs, and chances are future generations will know her primarily from her brief alliance with Sellers or from her tempestuous and well-documented private life, as recounted in her autobiography True Britt.

Trivia: Actor James Hong was working as a nightclub comic in San Francisco and Hawaii when he was tapped for his first regular TV role: "Number One Son" Barry Chan in the Anglo-American co-production The New Adventures of Charlie Chan (1957). Hong would later appear as Frank Chen in Jigsaw John (1976) and Wang in Switch (1977-78). In theatrical features, he played characters bearing such flavorful monikers as Chew, Lo Pan and Bing Wong. He was seen as Faye Dunaway's butler in Roman Polanski's Chinatown (1974), repeating the role (minus Faye) in the 1990 sequel The Two Jakes. One of his most sizeable screen roles was Lamont Cranston's brainy assistant Li Peng in The Shadow (1994). James Hong has also directed a brace of feature films, including 1979's The Girls Next Door and 1989's The Vineyard.

Trivia: Handsome, dark-haired, blue-eyed actor/director Jonathan Frakes is best known among Star Trek lovers for playing Commander William Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987-1994) and in the Star Trek feature films. Before joining the other legends of Gene Roddenberry's operatic future world, Frakes had worked on television and was a regular in two sudsy, short-lived series, Bare Essence (1983) and Paper Dolls (1984). The Pennsylvania native made his television debut in the 1979 movie Beach Patrol. Frakes has also appeared in numerous miniseries including Beulah Land (1980) and both installments of North and South (1985 and 1986). Frakes cut his directorial teeth with episodes of Star Trek the Next Generation and went on to helm other episodes in the Star Trek franchise, including Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager. He has also directed episodes of Diagnosis Murder and University Hospital, as well as the CD-ROM Star Trek-Klingon (1996). Frakes made his feature-film debut as an actor in Star Trek: Generations (1994). He made his big-screen directorial bow in Star Trek: First Contact (1996). His fame from Star Trek has led Frakes to host various sci-fi/paranormal-oriented documentaries including the UPN network's series Paranormal Borderline and the Fox network's popular special Alien Autopsy: Fact or Fiction.
