Trivia: A football star at Eastern Kentucky State College, Lee Majors came to Los Angeles armed with a physical education degree and possessed with a vague desire to break into films. He worked as a park recreation director for the City of Los Angeles before entering show business in 1963. Majors was promoted as "the New James Dean," though he personally aspired to become a new Steve McQueen or Paul Newman (he also retained his permit to work as a recreation director, just in case the world wasn't holding its breath for a new Dean, McQueen or Newman). Majors achieved stardom on his own merits in a variety of television series, the most recent of which was 1992's Raven. His best-known TV roles included Heath Barkley on The Big Valley (1965-69), bionic Steve Austin on The Six Million Dollar Man (1973-78) and stunt man Colt Seavers on The Fall Guy (1981-86). In addition, he has headlined a number of made-for-TV movies, essaying the old Gary Cooper part in the 1991 sequel to High Noon and portraying U-2 pilot Francis Gary Powers in a 1976 biopic. Majors would continue to act in the decades to come, memorably appearing in Big Fat Liar and on The Game. For several years, Lee Majors was married to actress Farrah Fawcett.

Trivia: Blonde, perky Markie Post is a television actress best known for playing curvaceous young prosecutor Christine Sullivan on the long-running sitcom Night Court between 1985 and 1992 and for starring in the controversial and short-lived romantic sitcom Hearts Afire (1992). Born Marjorie Post, she is the daughter of a nuclear physicist and a poet. She had a comfortable and quiet upbringing in California. Post studied acting while enrolled in Lewis and Clark College. She graduated in 1975 and was briefly married before she found work backstage writing questions for game shows and choosing prizes for The Price Is Right, Card Sharks, and Family Feud. She was about to be promoted to executive producer when Post decided it was time to work on her acting career. She made her television debut as a guest star on other series and on the very short-lived series Semi-Tough (1980). She next had a role in another short series, The Gangster Chronicles (1981), and then a longer lasting regular part on The Fall Guy from 1982 to 1985. After leaving the show, Post went on to appear in three television movies before landing her role on Night Court. Following the cancellation of Hearts Afire, Post, who was friends with the show's producers, Harry Thomason and Linda Bloodworth-Thomason, who in turn were friends of President Bill Clinton, was informally appointed a White House advisor. There she hosted an Inaugural special program for children and advised the President on ways to improve his image. Post also continued appearing in television movies such as Survival on the Mountain (1997) and making guest appearances on other shows.

Trivia: Though he has logged many impressive credits as an actor, Vienna-born Theodore Bikel preferred to think of himself -- and bill himself -- as a folksinger. Emigrating to Palestine in the 1930s, Bikel supported himself with his music, and also acted with Tel Aviv's Habimah Theatre in Sholem Alecheim's Tevye the Milkman. A quick study in several languages, Bikel honed his acting skills with Britain's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Three years after his London stage debut, Bikel made his first film, playing a German naval officer (the first of many villainous roles) in The African Queen (1951). In 1958, he was nominated for an Oscar for his supporting appearance in The Defiant Ones. One year later, he costarred with Mary Martin on Broadway, originating the role of Captain Von Trapp in Rodgers and Hammerstein's The Sound of Music. Active in many political causes ranging from Jewish relief to the Democratic Party, Bikel served as president of Actor's Equity from 1973 until 1982. In a mid-1980s interview, Theodore Bikel noted with amusement that, in spite of his many stage and screen appearances, many fans remembered him best for his brief unsympathetic appearance as a Russian officer in the otherwise forgettable 1957 film Fraulein. Bikel continued working well into his advanced years, both on screen and on stage. He died in 2015, at age 91.

A 1960 alumnus of the Pasadena Playhouse, Haig has been in films at least since 1964, when he played a lobotomized "poor relation" in the cult horror classic Spider Baby. He has proved quite valuable to such filmmakers as producer Roger Corman and director Jack Hill, playing abusive goons in such fare as The Big Doll House and The Big Bird Cage. Sid Haig's more "respectable" credits include George Lucas' THX 1138 and the 1970 James Bond opus Diamonds are Forever (he's the flunkey who tosses a topless Lana Wood from the window of a high-rise Vegas hotel).After decades of B-movie roles, Haig received a late-career boost in 1997, when he was given a small part in Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown. In the ensuing years, he would again work with Tarantino in Kill Bill, Vol. 2, and show up in the Rob Zombie horror flicks House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects.

After appearing on Broadway in the 1952 musical Mr. Pickwick, Revill spent three years with Britain's Ipswich Repertory. He was nominated for Tony Awards for his performances in Broadway's Irma La Douce and Oliver!; his later New York appearances included the starring roles of Sheridan Whiteside in Sherry, the 1972 musicalization of The Man Who Came to Dinner, and playwright/critic Max Beerbohm in The Incomparable Max. In films, Revill essayed "campy" characterizations in such 1960s projects as Modesty Blaise (1966), Fathom (1967) and The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes (1969); on television, he was brilliantly cast as Charlie Chaplin in the 1980 TV movie The Scarlet O'Hara Wars, and portrayed "black arts" purveyor Vector in the 1983 series Wizards and Warriors. Clive Revill's most recent credits include a cameo as the Sherwood Forest fire marshal in Mel Brooks' Robin Hood: Men in Tights, and the voice of Alfred the Butler on the Fox Television Network's Batman: The Animated Series (1992- ).
