Trivia:
Kept the surname of her first husband, singer-songwriter Chuck Mitchell. Gave her daughter, born Kelly Dale Anderson, up for adoption in 1965; she was renamed Kilauren Gibb and eventually reconnected with Mitchell in 1997. Voted as the Top Female Performer of 1970 by Melody Maker Magazine. Originally recorded "Big Yellow Taxi" in 1970, a top-15 hit single in Canada, United Kingdom and Australia which has been covered numerous times by artists like The Neighborhood, Maire Brennan, Amy Grant and Counting Crows. Released the album Blue in 1971, listed as one of the 100 greatest albums of all time by Rolling Stone and Time. "Help Me," off her 1974 album Court and Spark, became her only Top 10 single, in June 1974. Inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1981 Received the Governor General's Performing Arts Award, Canada's highest award for performing arts, in 1996. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. Appointed a Companion of the Order of Canada, Canada's highest civilian honor, in 2002.
