Jean Dujardin (Actor) .. Hubert Bonisseur de la Bath, OSS 117
Born: June 19, 1972
Birthplace: Rueil-Malmaison, France
Trivia: French actor and comedian Jean Dujardin has brought such undeniable leading-man charm to his career on-screen that it may come as a surprise that he didn't decide to become an actor early on. Raised in a commune outside of Paris, Dujardin worked for his family's construction company after high school. He became interested in show business later, while he was serving his mandatory military service. Dujardin eventually developed a one-man show, which he performed in pubs and cabarets, before transitioning to the screen in 1999 when he began appearing on the French TV series Un gars, une fille. Dujardin was a hit with audiences, and prominent movie roles soon followed, notably with 2005's Brice de Nice and 2006's OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies. He remained one of the most famous actors of the French screen in the years that followed, but American audiences eventually came to know the performer as well when he starred in 2011's critical smash The Artist. A throwback to the early days of film, the movie transcended the language barrier quite easily, as it was silent. The film racked up numerous awards, as did Dujardin for his performance -- including an Academy Award for Best Actor. He next co-directed, co-produced, co-wrote and starred in 2012's Les Infidèles (The Players), and took on a supporting role in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street (2013).

Serge Hazanavicius (Actor) .. Staman
Born: September 11, 1963
Trivia: Gallic actor Serge Hazanavicius debuted in film not as an on-camera presence but as a director, helming a plethora of short-subject films. He shifted gears to focus on acting, then moved into supporting feature roles with a small turn in Peter Kassovitz's 1992 comedy Drôle d'oiseaux and a more substantial part as the romantic lead opposite the alluring Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi in director Laurence Barbosa's light romantic comedy Les Gens Normaux N'ont Rien d'exceptionnel (1993). These assignments seemed to set a precedent for the work that followed, as one comedic project after another ensued (witness 1996's Delphine 1-Yvan 0, 1997's Le Déménagement, and 2001's Barnie et Ses Petites Contrarietes), in time, however, Hazanavicius revealed more of a dramatic flair, receiving particularly strong acclaim for his work opposite Kristin Scott Thomas and Elsa Zylberstein in director Philippe Claudel's poignant psychological drama I've Loved You So Long... (2007).

Trivia: Internationally renowned French filmmaker Michel Hazanavicius began learning the ropes of being a director in the late '80s, working for the French TV channel Canal+. He directed a multitude of projects for television before making his first movie for the big screen: the 2006 espionage spoof OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies. He developed a tremendous working relationship with his stars, Jean Dujardin and Bérénice Bejo, whom he would team with again for his 2011 international hit, the critical smash The Artist. A throwback to the early days of film, the movie transcended language barriers easily, as it was silent. The Artist racked up numerous awards, as did Hazanavicius for his role as a director -- including Academy Award wins for Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Picture.
