Brooks, one of Kansas City's first Black police officers, will turn 100 in 2032 and is still active in his faith, helping community members and telling his story about his life in public service through his autobiography "Binding Us Together: A Civil Rights Activist Reflects On A Lifetime Of Community And Public Service".
