As an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation, Margaret discusses how she weaves Cherokee narratives into her books and the importance of indigenous voices in literature. She shares how she used her childhood in Nashville, TN as an inspiration for the setting of the book and the significant amount of research that is required.
