Was supposed to pursue medical studies; worked as an optical advisor before she picked up a career in movies. Participated in Vinod Khanna's search for a debutante in London and got selected for a role in his movie. After coming to Mumbai, trained for a month and a half months with Kishore Namit Kapoor to learn acting. Made her debut in the movie Himalay Putra (1997), alongside Akshaye Khanna.
