Martin Milner (Actor) .. Off. Pete Malloy
Born: December 28, 1931
Died: September 06, 2015
Birthplace: Detroit, Michigan, United States
Trivia: Red-headed, freckle-faced Martin Milner was only 15 when he made his screen debut in Life With Father (1947), and would continue to play wide-eyed high schoolers and college kids well into the next decade. His early film assignments included the teenaged Marine recruit in Lewis Milestone's The Halls of Montezuma (1951) and the obnoxious suitor of Jeanne Crain in Belles on Their Toes (1952). His first regular TV series was The Stu Erwin Show (1950-1955), in which he played the boyfriend (and later husband) of Stu's daughter Joyce. More mature roles came his way in Marjorie Morningstar (1957) as Natalie Wood's playwright sweetheart and in The Sweet Smell of Success (1957) as the jazz musician targeted for persecution by Winchell-esque columnist Burt Lancaster. Beginning in 1960, he enjoyed a four-year run as Corvette-driving Tod Stiles on TV's Route 66 (a statue of Milner and his co-star George Maharis currently stands at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY). A longtime friend and associate of producer/director/actor Jack Webb, Milner was cast as veteran L.A.P.D. patrolman Pete Malloy on the Webb-produced TV weekly Adam-12, which ran from 1968 to 1975. His later TV work included a short-lived 1970s series based on Johan Wyss' Swiss Family Robinson. Later employed as a California radio personality, Martin Milner continued to make occasional TV guest appearances; one of these was in the 1989 TV movie Nashville Beat, in which he was reunited with his Adam-12 co-star Kent McCord. He made an appearance on the short-lived series The New Adam-12 and had recurring roles on shows like Life Goes On and Murder, She Wrote. Milner died in 2015, at age 83.
Vincent Beck (Actor) .. Joe Claver
Born: January 01, 1927
Died: January 01, 1984
Kent Mccord (Actor) .. Off. Jim Reed
Born: September 26, 1942
Birthplace: Los Angeles, California, United States
Trivia: Supporting actor Kent McCord is best known for co-starring in the long-running series Adam-12 (1968-1975). McCord made his film debut in the made-for-television movie The Outsider (1967). Following the demise of Adam-12, McCord continued appearing in TV films and in low-budget features such as Unsub (1985) and Return of the Living Dead 3 (1993).
Zalman King (Actor) .. Man Holding Baby
Born: May 23, 1941
Died: February 03, 2012
Trivia: A former deep-sea diver, Zalman King made his first public impression as an actor. In the "relevant" 1970 TV series The Young Lawyers, King won as many detractors as fans for his abrasive portrayal of idealistic law student Aaron Silverman. King's first starring feature film, The Ski Bum (1971), was a mistake from the word "go," and before long he was playing standard psycho villains. In 1976, he was cast as Jesus in The Passover Plot, another project that looked better on paper than it did on screen. From 1980 onward, King devoted his time to behind-the-camera activities, beginning with the inexpensive "sleeper" Roadie, which he produced and co-wrote. King made his biggest cinematic impact in the realm of soft-core erotica, first as co-producer and co-scripter of 9 1/2 Weeks (1982), then as writer/director of such heavy-breathers as Two Moon Junction (1988) and Wild Orchid (1990). He often wrote in collaboration with his wife, Patricia Knop. For cable television, Zalman King produced, directed and occasionally wrote for the softcore anthology Red Shoe Diaries.
Joan Shawlee (Actor) .. Mrs. Getz
Born: March 05, 1929
Died: March 22, 1987
Trivia: Though she reportedly played a bit in the 1937 version of A Star Is Born, actress Joan Shawlee's first confirmed professional work was as a model, singer, and nightclub performer. While appearing in New York, Shawlee was discovered by comedian Lou Costello, who put her under personal contract. She was billed as Joan Fulton in her first appearance with Abbott and Costello in the 1947 film Buck Privates Come Home. She reverted to "Shawlee" once she'd gained a reputation as a wisecracking, gum-chewing comedienne, a reputation enhanced by her many appearances on the popular TV sitcom The Abbott and Costello Show. Her films ranged from trash like Prehistoric Women (1950) to treasures like From Here to Eternity. Her best screen role was as dictatorial bandleader Sweet Sue in the Billy Wilder classic Some Like It Hot (1959); Wilder would cast Shawlee in choice supporting roles in his later films, The Apartment (1960), Irma La Douce (1963), and Buddy Buddy (1981). Outside of her work on Abbott and Costello's various television ventures, Joan Shawlee's TV career included regular roles on such series as The Betty Hutton Show, McHale's Navy, The Dick Van Dyke Show (as Morey Amsterdam's wife Pickles), and The Feather and Father Gang.
Gene Dynarski (Actor) .. Ed Johnson
Born: September 13, 1932
Birthplace: United States
Trivia: American character actor Gene Dynarski appeared on television and in films from the mid-'60s through the late '80s. In 1979 he founded the Gene Dynarski Theater.
Tani Phelps (Actor) .. Mrs. Dorothy Freeman
Jack Collins (Actor) .. Mr. Purdy
Born: September 21, 1923
Barbara Baldavin (Actor) .. Baby's Mother
