While attending the New York High School of Performing Arts, Benjamin made his first professional stage appearances, and reportedly showed up in a handful of movie bit roles. He continued his theatrical training at Northwestern University, where he met actress Paula Prentiss, whom he married in 1961. At first, Hollywood was more interested in Paula than in Dick; thus, while Paula was co-starring with Jim Hutton at MGM, her husband was still performing on stage. In 1965, Benjamin directed the London production of Neil Simon's Barefoot in the Park; the following year, he made his Broadway acting bow in Simon's The Star Spangled Girl, earning a Theatre World Award in the bargain. Co-starring with wife Paula, Benjamin appeared in the 1967 TV situation comedy He and She, which gained a loyal cult following but was considered too New Yawk-ish for the hinterlands. Even so, He and She made Benjamin a name-above-the-title star, and it was in this capacity that he made his film adult screen appearance as angst-driven collegiate Neil Klugman in Goodbye Columbus (1969). He went on to play Major Danby in the all-star Catch-22 (1969), monumentally insensitive husband Jonathan Balser in Diary of a Mad Housewife (1970), the self-abusive (in every sense of the phrase) title character in Portnoy's Complaint (1972), the hero-by-default in Westworld (1973), ulcerated agent Ben Clark in The Sunshine Boys (1976) and erstwhile vampire hunter Dr. Jeff Rosenberg in Love at First Bite (1980). Trivia: Designer label-clad force of nature, neurotic diva, and the owner of one of the most expansive mouths in the free world, Christine Baranski is one of the more distinctive actresses working on the stage and screen today. Known to television audiences for her portrayal of Cybill Shepard's brassy and unapologetically arrogant best friend on the sitcom Cybill, Baranski has also made a name for herself on the New York stage, where she has won a number of awards, and has worked as a character actress on a variety of films.Born in Buffalo, New York, on May 2, 1952, Baranski was influenced from a young age by her Polish grandparents, who were both actors. After studying acting at Julliard, she began working on the New York stage and on various TV shows, and made her film debut in 1982. Trivia: Tall, bookish-looking American actor Charles Kimbrough attended Indiana University and Yale before his first off-Broadway appearances in All for Love and Struts and Frets. Beginning in 1966, Kimbrough and then-wife Mary Jane were principal players of the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, a troupe which included such celebrities-to-be as Michael Tucker and Judith Light. Kimbrough briefly abandoned Milwaukee for Broadway in 1969, garnering excellent revues for his appearance in the 1970 Stephen Sondheim musical Company. He returned to the Milwaukee Rep in the early '70s; so popular were Charles and his wife that, when they left Milwaukee for good in 1972, an original musical was specially commissioned for the Kimbrough's final rep appearance. Remaining active in plays, commercials, and films (The Front [1976], The Seduction of Joe Tynan [1977]), Kimbrough established himself as a reliable if not overly famous presence. Charles Kimbrough finally became a fullfledged celebrity in 1988 with his weekly appearances as newsmagazine anchorman Jim Dial on the Candice Bergen sitcom Murphy Brown.

Trivia: Colombian-born, Spanish Harlem-raised actress Paula Garcés graduated to film by virtue of her career as a soap star on Guiding Light (where she played Pilar Santos). She then immediately fell into a Tinseltown niche by specializing in big-screen portrayals of fiery, doe-eyed Latinas with heightened allure and exoticism -- qualities that lent themselves equally to drama and farce. Early projects included supporting roles in the Michael J.
