Trivia: One of the precious few actors of the "pretty boy" school to survive past the 1950s, Robert Wagner was the son of a Detroit steel executive. When his family moved to Los Angeles, Wagner's original intention of becoming a businessman took second place to his fascination with the film industry. Thanks to his dad's connections, he was able to make regular visits to the big studios. Inevitably, a talent scout took notice of Wagner's boyish handsomeness, impressive physique, and easygoing charm. After making his unbilled screen debut in The Happy Years (1950), Wagner was signed by 20th Century Fox, which carefully built him up toward stardom. He played romantic leads with ease, but it wasn't until he essayed the two scene role of a shellshocked war veteran in With a Song in My Heart (1952) that studio executives recognized his potential as a dramatic actor. He went on to play the title roles in Prince Valiant (1954) and The True Story of Jesse James (1956), and shocked his bobby-soxer fan following by effectively portraying a cold-blooded murderer in A Kiss Before Dying (1955). In the early '60s, however, Wagner suffered a series of personal and professional reverses. His "ideal" marriage to actress Natalie Wood had dissolved, and his film career skidded to a stop after The Pink Panther (1964). Two years of unemployment followed before Wagner made a respectable comeback as star of the lighthearted TV espionage series It Takes a Thief (1968-1970). For the rest of his career, Wagner would enjoy his greatest success on TV, first in the mid-'70s series Switch, then opposite Stefanie Powers in the internationally popular Hart to Hart, which ran from 1979 through 1983 and has since been sporadically revived in TV-movie form (a 1986 series, Lime Street, was quickly canceled due to the tragic death of Wagner's young co-star, Savannah Smith). On the domestic front, Wagner was briefly wed to actress Marion Marshall before remarrying Natalie Wood in 1972; after Wood's death in 1981, Wagner found lasting happiness with his third wife, Jill St. John, a longtime friend and co-worker. Considered one of Hollywood's nicest citizens, Robert Wagner has continued to successfully pursue a leading man career into his sixties; he has also launched a latter-day stage career, touring with his Hart to Hart co-star Stefanie Power in the "readers' theater" presentation Love Letters. He found success playing a henchman to Dr. Evil in the Austin Powers movies, and in 2007 he began playing Teddy, a recurring role on the hit CBS series Two and a Half Men.

Trivia: Born Stefania Federkiewicz, she is a lead actress of routine Hollywood films of the '60s and '70s. Soon after graduating from Hollywood High, she debuted onscreen in 1961; early in her career she was billed as Taffy Paul. She starred in the TV series Girl from U.N.C.L.E. and Hart to Hart. From 1966-74 she was married to actor Gary Lockwood, then she became the constant companion of aging actor William Holden; following his death in 1981, she continued being active with the William Holden Wildlife Foundation, which worked to create a big-game preserve and study center in Kenya.

Trivia: Peter MacLean's appearances on such 1970s television staples as Starsky and Hutch and Charlie's Angels without question made the character actor one of the small screen's most recognized supporting players, and his later role as the star and director of Disneyland Paris' Buffalo Bill's Wild West attraction would help to ensure that his face would remain equally recognizable to future generations as well. A Boston native who graduated from Emerson College, MacLean later made a name for himself in repertory Shakespeare groups across the country, during which time he gained an especially solid reputation for his portrayal of Macbeth. MacLean alternated frequently between television and film following his big-screen bow in the 1963 drama The Cardinal, and by the 1970s he could be spotted virtually everywhere on the small screen. From an appearance in the pilot for Fantasy Island to a role in the enduring daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives, MacLean could always be counted upon to liven up what might otherwise have been incidental roles. In the 1976 frightener Squirm MacLean pinned a badge to his chest as the sheriff who must help to save a small community from carnivorous worms. In the 1980s MacLean's onscreen career began to slow, though in the next decade his position in front of and behind the scenes of Disneyland Paris' Buffalo Bill's Wild West found the ageing actor as in-demand as ever. MacLean would ultimately appear in a staggering 1,800 performances in Buffalo Bill mode, even performing at the base of the Eiffel Tower as the real Buffalo Bill had done 100 years previously. On May 28, 2003, Peter MacLean died of lymphoma in Los Angeles. He was 67.

Trivia: Over his career as a television director, Leo Penn helmed well over 400 primetime hours on a wide variety of series, ranging from Star Trek to I Spy to Diagnosis Murder. In 1973, he received an Emmy for directing a two-hour episode of Columbo titled "Any Port in a Storm." Before becoming a director, he acted on stage and in a few feature films, beginning with Shame (1945). His film career had just begun when Penn was blacklisted after attending a pro-union meeting with other actors. That the group was actively supporting the first blacklistees, the Hollywood Ten, only worsened matters. Unable to work in film, he turned to Broadway; there, along with his wife Eileen Ryan, he starred in several productions, including The Iceman Cometh, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, and Of Mice and Men. He also found acting jobs on television. In 1959, he returned to the screen in The Story on Page One, but by then the acting profession had lost its luster and he decided to become a director. He had his first helming job on the early-'60s medical drama Ben Casey. In the mid-'90s, Penn reentered feature films as an actor, appearing with his wife in his son Sean Penn's directorial debut The Crossing Guard (1995). Son Sean also produced the last play in which Penn performed, a 1997 production of Remembrance. Though Sean is most famous, Penn's other sons, Michael Penn and Chris Penn, are also in the entertainment industry, Michael as a singer/songwriter and Chris as an actor.

Trivia: Born Luis Antonio Damaso De Alonso, this Mexican-born Latin lover appeared in silent and sound films. He trained to be a bullfighter (his father's profession) but gave it up for acting after his family moved to the U.S. At age 13 he debuted onscreen as an extra; he made his screen acting debut seven years later in The Plastic Age (1925). In the mid '20s he frequently played dashing romantic leading men, notably in Camille (1927) opposite Norma Talmadge. In the sound era he played leads and then later character and supporting roles in many films; he continued working until the late '70s. He was married to actress Constance Bennett.
