Father Juan Carlos is a reggae artist that performs under the name Johnny Dread and Guardiola often joined him onstage from a young age. Worked as a model before turning to acting. Auditioned for the role of Mylene Cruz in The Get Down with the Alicia Keys song "Fallin'." Learned she landed the role in The Get Down while hiking in the hill behind the Hollywood sign.
