Worked as an ice cream salesman. Ran the Little Theatre Company in Bristol during the 1970s, alongside a number of notable actors. Taught Drama at RADA Central.
In 2014, won Best Actor at the British Soap Awards. Regularly runs in Alan Birchenall's charity race to raise money for prostate cancer awareness.
