Biography
About Vilma Santos-Recto
Started movie career after her uncle, a cameraman at a film production company, encouraged her to try out in movies. Became the first female representative of the Province of Batangas in May 2016. At age 9, won her first FAMAS Award for her debut movie Trudis Liit (1963).
Served nine years as the mayor of Lipa City, Batangas, from 1998 to 2007, becoming the first female mayor of the city. Became the first female governor of the Province of Batangas in 2007 and was re-elected in 2010. Dubbed as the Grand Slam Queen due to the number of Best Actress awards she has won.
