Has five siblings. Failed his first audition for the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, but was accepted to the school the following year. Played Richard III in a season-long staging of Shakespeare's history plays called This England: The Histories by the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2000.
Appeared in a 2011 production of The School for Scandals in London.
