Was discovered at the age of 15 while laying on a beach. Landed a modelling contract with Guess? clothing.
Has appeared in Victoria's Secret and Sports Illustrated. In 1999 she was chosen by a vote of French mayors as the model for new busts of Marianne, the revolutionary symbol of France who appears in sculpted form in French town halls. Has a brown belt in judo.
Ranked number 1 in askmen.com's 50 Most Beautiful Women 2001. Took part in a demonstration march in 2008 to ask for the immediate release of Ingrid Betancourt. Served as a jury member for the 69th Venice International Film Festival.
