Grew up in communist East Germany, where he only had one TV channel.
The fall of the Berlin Wall happened when he was 17.
Traveled to the United States as an exchange student when he was 17, he stayed there for a year studying English and acting in theater.
Started his acting career in theater.
Has performed at the Theater Junge Generation, the Schauspielhaus Zürich and the Schauspiel Frankfurt.
Speaks multiple languages, including German, Russian, English, Italian and French.
He dubs his Game of Thrones character in German.
