Biography
About R. Madhavan
Has appeared in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and English language films. Represented India as a cultural ambassador in Canada, while in college, in 1988. Won the Maharashtra Best Cadet Award and travelled to England and got trained with the Royal Army, Navy, and the Air Force.
Won the Indian national championship for public speaking in 1992. Began his acting career with television guest appearances on ZEE TV soap opera Banegi Apni Baat in 1996. Won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut - South for Alaipayuthey (2000).
Received the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actor in 2002. Awarded the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award - Tamil for his performance in Aayutha Ezhuthu (2004). Appeared in several PETA advertising campaigns, supporting the animal right's organisation.
