About Gyton Grantley

Was named after the maiden name of his French grandmother. Made his TV debut in Fat Cow Motel in 2003. Gained 15 kilograms to play Carl Williams in Underbelly in 2008.
Starred as himself in the 2009 short film Being Carl Williams, in which two criminals believe he is Williams and abduct the actor. Was the subject of a 2009 Archibald Prize finalist painting by artist Sam Cranstoun, who attended the same high school as Grantley. In 2010, was one of the first artists in residence for the Creative Industries Faculty of his alma mater, Queensland University of Technology.
Is a keen amateur photographer who, in 2012, donated a photo to a charity art auction to raise funds for the Mater Foundation. In 2013, starred in his first musical theatre role as Luther Billis in Opera Australia's production of South Pacific.
