Initially planned on a career as a pilot, having looked into a flight school in San Antonio before enrolling in a Mexico City arts school. Spotted by telenovela producer Pedro Damián while playing the role of John Proctor in his school's version of The Crucible. Sang with two other men and three women in the Mexican pop group RBD (derived from the telenovela Rebelde), which won seven Billboard Latin Music Awards and was nominated for two Latin Grammys.
Supports the Mexican national soccer team and the club Pumas, having played the game growing up and in the TV series El Diez. Expanded his worldwide profile in the popular Netflix series Sense8.
