Grew up in Nantwich, Cheshire.
At the age of 8, his family discovered he had a talent for dancing and encouraged him to take dancing lessons.
Studied at Crewe's Yvonne School of Dancing.
Announced he was leaving Coronation Street just a few days after his onscreen son, actor Ryan Thomas, announced he was also leaving the show.
Best known for playing Tony Stewart in Coronation Street.
