About Tahar Rahim

Studied at a sports university, information and technology, and mathematics before switching to a film degree at the University of Montpellier. Began his career when director Cyril Mennegun hired him for the pseudo-documentary film Tahar the Student. Won both Best Actor and Most Promising Actor for Un prophète (2009), the first time an actor won both prizes simultaneously.
Spoke ancient Gaelic for his role in The Eagle (2011).
