Moved to Chennai in 1988 to become an actor. Made his debut with a small role in Karthavyam (1991). Lived together with YVS Chowdary and Gunasekhar in the early 1990s.
Won the Nandi Special Jury Award in for his performance in Nee Kosam (1999). Was awarded the Nandi Award for Best Actor for Neninthe (2008).
