Father, Dennis DeVine, is a conductor for the Canadian National Railway. Was in a traumatic accident at age 11 when a cement truck hit him while he was crossing the street, resulting in multiple fractures in both legs that required surgeries over three years; it took two years for him to learn to walk again. Met fellow Workaholics costar Blake Anderson while attending community college.
Worked as a doorman and phone operator at the Hollywood Improv while perfecting his craft as a stand-up comic. In 2006, formed a sketch-comedy group, Mail Order Comedy, based in Los Angeles.
