About Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Has seven brothers and two sisters. Briefly worked as a chemist in a petrochemical company following his graduation, before moving to Delhi and eventually getting involved with acting. Debuted with a 40 second role in Sarfarosh (1999), but he continued to struggle to make ends meet.
First lead role appearance was as a wedding singer in Prashant Bhargav's Patang (2007-08). Was awarded the National Film Award - Special Jury Award / Special Mention (Feature Film) in 2012. Won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award in 2013 for The Lunchbox.
Bagged the Best Actor Award for Haraamkhor at the 2015 New York Indian Film Festival.
