Acting career began at age 9 with a part in a national toy commercial. Took classes at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting and Theatre in Los Angeles. Made TV series debut in 1993 on Saved by the Bell: The New Class.
Eventually left the show to go back to school. Was featured in the 1995 Disney Channel documentary Hollywood Lives. Was offered and turned down the role of Cordelia Chase on Buffy the Vampire Slayer; later appeared on Buffy as the slayer Kendra.
Acted opposite her father, Richard Lawson, on Saved by the Bell: The New Class.
