Biography
About Adriano Giannini

Began his career at 18 behind the scenes of his mother's movie Evelina and Her Sons. Grew up in a filmmaking family; father is Giancarlo Giannini. For 10 years worked as an assistant cameraman and cameraman on various productions.
First appearance on screen was in 2001's Alla rivoluzione sulla due cavalli. Starred opposite Madonna in the 2002 U.S. remake of Swept Away; played the role his father originated in the 1975 Italian version; Madonna was unaware of the connection until after she chose him. In Italy, dubbed Heath Ledger's lines as The Joker in The Dark Knight and won the 2009 Silver Ribbon Award for Best Voice Actor; his father dubbed Jack Nicholson's Joker role in 1989's Batman.
Directed the 2009 short film Il Gioco (The Game). His first role in a U.S. TV series came in 2012 as Giancarlo Rossi in Missing. Speaks fluent Italian, English, French and Spanish.
