About James Floyd

His mother is Tamil Indian and his father English with Scottish ancestry. Trained with the National Youth Theatre. Studied philosophy, logic and scientific method at university for a year before leaving to pursue an acting career.
Struggled for years to earn a living as an actor, working as an usher at the Strand Theatre and teaching maths to young students while auditioning. Won a British Independent Film Award for Best Newcomer for his role in My Brother the Devil in 2012. Screen International named him as a Star of Tomorrow in 2012.
Awarded Best Actor at the Milan Film Festival in 2012. Named Breakthrough Brit by BAFTA in 2013. Has a son who was born in 2016.
Added the middle name 'Krishna' to his official stage name in October 2017. Supports a number of charities such as It Gets Better Project and the Disasters Emergency Committee.
