Biography
About Amit Behl
Acted in his first professional play with Feroze Khan in 1986. Moved away from Mumbai to Delhi on a job assignment after graduating in Bachelor of Technology (B.
Tech) in Electronics Engineering during 1990. Performed in theatre under Ibrahim Alkazi, the founder of NSD (National School of Drama), in Delhi. Made his acting debut on television in the serial Shanti (1994).
Had taken up roles in 14 serials simultaneously during 1998 and had played the central character in most of them. Had collapsed after shooting for 72 hours at a stretch during 1998. Launched, as a producer, the serial Agnipankh which was India's first serial on the Indian Air Force.
Lost his mother on September 18, 2013 which was the auspicious day of Anant Chaturdashi celebrated by Jains and Hindus all over India. A large portion of his house located near Mumbai's Filmcity was burnt and his pets died (1 dog and 2 birds) after a large fire had broken out. Lost his father Anand Prakash Behl on April 27, 2017.
Has lectured students on art, culture & entertainment at Media and Management schools.
