Became interested in comedy at age 17 after going on a date to the Second City club in Chicago with his high-school sweetheart, Heather, whom he later married. Began his improv studies at the Second City in Detroit during his senior year of high school, and took classes with fellow actor-comedians Keegan Michael Key and Antoine McKay. Named one of Splashlife's 30 Under 30: Comedians to Watch in 2011.
Joined SNL in its 38th season, along with fellow Second City alums Aidy Bryant and Cecily Strong. A member of the Cook County Social Club improv troupe.
