Studied at a performing arts school in Cincinnati.
Former participant of CBS's Drama Diversity Casting Initiative.
Moved to Los Angeles in 2018 after being cast in If Beale Street Could Talk (2018).
Her first movie role in If Beale Street Could Talk (2018) earned her multiple nominations and awards, including two Image Awards (NAACP) nominations, a Black Reel Award and a Women Film Critics Circle Award. In 2019, modeled for an advertising campaign for fashion brand Kate Spade New York.
Worked with weapons for the first time as part of her training for The Old Guard (2020), which also included boxing, military practical training and gym.
Worked with the Avengers: Endgame (2019) fight coordinator Danny Hernandez to prepare for her role in The Old Guard (2020).
Her first scene on the set of The Old Guard (2020) was the airplane fight scene with Charlize Theron.
