Is half French, half Puerto Rican. Pursued a career in acting after performing in a high-school production of The Grapes of Wrath. (She overcame stage fright during her work on the production; she also battles claustrophobia.) Was signed by an agent in 2000 after being a finalist in MTV's Wanna Be a VJ contest.
Joined the third season of Lost for a full-time role, but her character was killed off due to viewer backlash. Shot scenes in a real Florida swamp for A&E's The Glades. Explained to the (New York) Daily News that when she tells people where she's working, their reactions are either that the state is "fantastic" or "horrible."
