Made his first NASCAR start in the Craftsman Truck Series in 2001, when he was just a junior in high school. Graduated high school a year early, with honors, in order to focus on his racing career. First professional victory came September 4, 2005, at the California Speedway.
Was named Rookie of the Year in 2005. Founded the Kyle Busch Foundation to help fund group homes for disadvantaged children. Nicknamed Rowdy, after Tom Cruise's character from 1990's Days of Thunder.
